Shun Ethnic Sentiments, Jonathan Implores New Commissioners

The Federal Government has asked seven newly sworn in commissioners in the Federal Character Commission and the Federal Civil Service to shun ethnic sentiments and ensure that appointments into the Federal Civil Service are evenly spread.
President Goodluck Jonathan said this at the swearing-in of members of the board of the Federal Character Commission, one member of the Federal Civil Service and two permanent secretaries in the Presidential Villa just before the Federal Executive Council meeting.
He said their appointment was coming at a time the nation was in dire need of fair play in appointments into the civil service and advised them to make sure that such appointments are evenly spread across the geo political zones of the country.
The newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries in the civil service are Clement Ilo and Samila Shoaga while Hassan Usman Dabo was sworn in as a member of the Federal Civil Service Commission.
The president asked them to ensure that everyone complies with the civil service rules at all times.
