A lawyer and lecturer in the Faculty of Law,
University of Lagos, Wahab Shittu has described the judgement delivered
in the case between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and a
former director in the Pension office, John Yakubu as a mockery of the
judiciary.
Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme,
Sunrise Daily, Mr. Shittu said he was shocked when he heard that the
former pension boss was handed a two-year jail term or an option of
N750, 000 fine for an over N2 billion scam.
“Honestly, when I listened to that judgement, my immediate reaction was one of shock, one of disbelief, one of disappointment,” he said.
