The
special task force maintaining law and order in plateau state,
Operation Safe Haven has awarded scholarships to some students and
pupils of Zololo primary and secondary schools in Naraguta area of Jos
North Local Government Area of Plateau state, north central Nigeria.
Special Task Force Commander, Major General Henry Ayoola during the presentation of the grant to the beneficiaries urged parents to invest in the education of their wards as there is no other legacy than solid education foundation while appealing to the students to be hard working and dedicated in their endowment.
The task force has provided water supply, free medical services as well as organising seminars for youths and football competitions among various communities as means of fostering peaceful coexistence among the warring factions.
The latest community effort is the provision of scholarships to pupils and students of Zololo Local Education Authority Primary School and the Community Secondary School in the area as well as renovation of dilapidated building and provision of benches and desks to the schools.
Task Force Committee Chairman for Youth Empowerment Scheme, Col. Harry Daniel, believes that the various programmes of the committee in ensuring lasting peace on the plateau have been yielding positive responses.
The community and recipients express gratitude to the special task force on its contributions to the development of the community with assurance that the community will embrace peaceful coexistence with others irrespective of religion or ethnic differences.
The gesture will no doubt ensure that the future of the children is secured while the plateau state government should complement the effort of the task force by providing necessary social amenities in the community.
