Northern Governors Seek Dialogue With Boko Haram

The Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswan, has called on political elites and leaders in the north to prevail on the members of the fundamentalist Boko Haram sect, to engage the federal government in a dialogue.
The Vice-Chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum in an interview with Channels Television in Minna, the Niger State capital, stated that dialogue remains the only way out of the security challenges that have claimed many lives in some parts of the north.
The dialogue he claimed must be with a view to finding a lasting solution to the current insecurity in the country.
He also appealed to the leadership of the sect to identify themselves and state their grievances in the interest of peace and development of the north.
The Governor noted that the negative activities of the sect members had already decapitated the economy of the north and is forcing investors to leave the region.
