Reps Charge NEMA To Provide Alternative Water Source For Ezu Community

The House of Representatives has urged relevant security agencies to urgently work towards identifying over the 40 dead bodies found floating in Ezu River in Anambra state.

The motion, which was presented by Rep. Chukwuemeka Nwogbo, says the security agencies should also determine the causes of their death, whilst ensuring that there is no reoccurrence of this gruesome situation.
The lawmaker, noted that the Ezu River represent the only source of domestic water for neighboring communities, urged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in conjunction with Federal Ministry of Water Resources to immediately provide alternate water source to the affected communities.
The agencies are also urged to do all that is necessary to ensure that there is no epidemic outbreak in the affected areas.
