Victims of the 2012 flood disaster in Kaduna 
state have threatened to embark on a street protest in 21 days, if the 
state government fails to commence utilization of the N400million flood 
intervention fund.
 The
 federal government approved N17.6 billion relief fund for flood 
affected states out of which N400 million was awarded to Kaduna state 
and the victims claim they are yet to receive compensation from the 
funds.

The 2012 flood disaster in the state affected 5,000 persons in about six local government areas, killing four children.
Kaduna based human rights activist, Mr Shehu Sani blamed the slow disbursement of the funds on poor coordination of the committees in charge.
