Kaduna Flood Victims Give Ultimatum To State Government

Victims of the 2012 flood disaster in Kaduna state have threatened to embark on a street protest in 21 days, if the state government fails to commence utilization of the N400million flood intervention fund.
The federal government approved N17.6 billion relief fund for flood affected states out of which N400 million was awarded to Kaduna state and the victims claim they are yet to receive compensation from the funds.
The 2012 flood disaster in the state affected 5,000 persons in about six local government areas, killing four children.
Kaduna based human rights activist, Mr Shehu Sani blamed the slow disbursement of the funds on poor coordination of the committees in charge.
