The Federal University of Technology (FUT
Minna), radio station; Search FM Station, was razed down by fire, early
Wednesday morning, destroying property and equipment worth millions of
Naira.
Speaking
to Channels Television at the scene of the burnt Search FM Station at
the university campus in Gida Magoro, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor
Musibau Akanji noted that preliminary report revealed that the fire
which began early this morning was caused by an electrical fault.
He however explained that the school authority has launched a full investigation in to the cause of the inferno which razed the three year old station which recently won the best campus radio station during the just concluded Radio Nigeria Awards.
The Vice-Chancellor promised to get the station back on air as soon as possible.
