The
Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has warned that it will not tolerate any
act of violence or misconduct during the chairmanship and councillorship
election billed to take place on the March 16th.
FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr. Femi Ogunbayode who said that police men will be deployed to the nooks and crannies of the FCT for the polls, urged leaders of political parties to ensure that their members adhere strictly to the Electoral Act.
He also warned that no politician is allowed at any polling unit with escorts and orderlies.
Mr. Ogunbayode also announced that movement in the FCT will be restricted from 12 midnight on Friday 15th March to 5pm on Saturday 16th for people coming into the FCT, while residence of the FCT will have movement retracted from 7am to 5pm on Saturday 16th of March 2013.
