Members
of the Nigeria association of Medicine dealers (NAPMED) Kano on
Saturday slept in the market in a bid to defy a 24 hour ultimatum issued
by the state government to t evacuate the premises.
The Sabon Gari drug sellers in Kano, protested the government’s decision to boot them out of the market.
The drug sellers have asked the Kano state government to temper justice with mercy and allow them to continue doing their business pending the time the court passes judgement on the matter.
The Kano government has accused patrons of the sabon gari drug market, an open drug transaction center of contributing to the increasing cases of drug abuse and other related activities.
Members of the group told Channels Television that say they will continue to sleep in the market until the state government reverses its decision.
