Unknown gunmen on tricycle have shot dead two civilians in Hotoro area of Kano metropolis.
Eyewitness told Channels Television that the two young men were shot dead on the street of Hotoron Arewa at about 2:30 on Sunday.
“They were walking on the street, surprisingly some people inside tricycle packed and open fire on them.”
A source close to one of the victims said he had a visitor this afternoon while on the way to accompany the visitor, he and the visitor were killed.
“I know my brother went to accompany his friend who visited him this afternoon, suddenly I had that they were all dead. I was shocked on hearing the sad news.”
Confirming the incident, the police Public Relations Officer, Magaji Musa Majiya said some unknown gunmen have shot and killed two people around Hotoron Arewa Primary school.
“Yes two people were confirmed dead, one person has been identified as Musa Abdullahi but we could not identify the name of the other person,” he said.
Mr Majiya further revealed that no arrest has been made but codon and search operation is currently going in the area.
