Members House of Representatives are to meet
with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru over
the recent attack on the Nigerian Embassy in Dakar, Senegal.
Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Rep. Nnena Elendu-Ukeje following a motion moved on the matter by a lawmaker, Rep. Robinson Uwak expressed serious concerns that the national flag of Nigeria was desecrated and staff of the embassy attacked in the process.
A video on the internet shows Nigerians molesting staff of the embassy and destroying property of the embassy before leaving the premises.
Rep. Uwak called for an immediate investigation into the matter by the House Committees on Foreign Affairs and that of internal security and report their findings back within four weeks.
