Three days after gunmen attacked and killed
seven members of a newly constituted vigilante group in Ngelzarma town
in Yobe state, the Joint Task Force (JTF) in the state said four
suspects have been arrested in connection with the killings.
A statement issued on Thursday, by the JTF spokesman in Yobe state, Eli Lazarus said the suspects were trailed and arrested in Ngelzarma town, a day after the murders.
The JTF, while expressing its resolve and commitment to the restoration of peace and protection of lives and property of all law abiding citizens, appealed for the provision of credible information that will lead to the arrest of other terror groups.
It also gave the assurance that all information made available to security agents will be treated as confidential as possible.
The vigilante members were attacked while holding an inaugural meeting at the Ngelzarma Motor Park w on Monday.
Ngelzarma is about 40 km west of Damaturu the state capital and has been witnessing severe attacks by gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram.
