Commander of the United States Africa Command, General
Carter Ham has promised that the command will work with the Economic
Community of West African States as well as the Nigerian government to
tackle insurgency in the sub region.
Speaking to journalists after a closed door meeting with the leadership of the National Defence College, General Ham said his command is prepared to offer technical support to the sub region’s security forces to tackle the security challenges.
General Ham had identified inadequate man power as a major challenge in tackling the insurgency in Nigeria and West African region.
The Acting Commandant of the National Defence College, Major General Mohammed Idris said that the military will continue to re-strategise for the sustenance of peace and development in the country.
