An eight year-old girl, Amarachi Uyanna was on Saturday named the winner of the first edition of Nigeria Got Talent show.
The Primary 5 pupil from Benin City beat nine other contenders to win the top prize of N10 million after displaying some round of professional dance steps at the grand finale.
The judges of the show which includes Kate Henshaw, Dan Foster, Yibo Koko, expressed their satisfaction with the outstanding performance of Ms Uyanna, who won through a public voting process managed by Forbes Limited.
On receiving her cheque, Amarachi said, “I am happy that I won. At first I was afraid and thought I would lose, but thank God I won in the end. I want to help orphans with the money, and also for the education of my two siblings as well as mine.”
Nigeria’s Got Talent grand finale took place at Bamako studio Ikeja.
