Gunmen Abduct General’s Wife In Ibadan

The atmosphere of AOP Logistics Company at New Ife road, Ibadan where the wife of General Oluwole Olurotimi, was abducted by gunmen on Monday night is still submerged with so much fear with workers of the company praying for the release of their Managing Director, Titilayo Rotimi
The General Manager of the company, Omini Ikpi narrated what happened before his boss was abducted.
“Mrs Rotimi was about driving out of the gate but stopped to speak with one of the company’s driver, and that was how I walked away from her and bided her goodnight but on getting to the bus-stop to get a bus, I was called that the MD has been abducted by four gunmen who blocked her with a grey Nissan car, kidnapped her and immediately drove out of the company’s premises and started shooting sporadically to scare people away,” he said.
Mr Ikpi said his boss was kidnapped with her bag containing two BlackBerry phones, laptop, and other valuables, while her shoes dropped when she was being dragged away from her black Prado jeep.
“Immediately she was kidnapped, the Egbeda police station was contacted, and they brought a patrol van but they could not arrest the abductors,” the General Manager said.
He said the police suspected that there could be informant in the company working with the abductors of Mrs Rotimi and that so far, the police have arrested three suspects including a security guard and two staff.
The Chief Security Officer of the company, Usman Illiasu, explained that although he was not on duty when the incident occurred, he was told by the security guards on duty that the abductors came with sophisticated weapons and everybody took to their heels during the rampage.
Guessing it was one of the abductors who picked her call when Mrs Rotimi’s phone was dialled around 4pm on Tuesday, Mr Illiasu said the person threatened to kill his boss if her family refuse to pay N200 million ransom.
