The
President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday held talks with the
Prime Minister of Poland on promoting and further strengthening the
bilateral relations between the two countries.
The talks which lasted for over one hour in president Goodluck Jonathan’s office is following an official visit to Nigeria by the Prime Minister of Poland Mr Donald Tusk.
The two leaders discussed political cooperation between both countries and welcomed the ongoing efforts aimed at reforming the United Nations in order to equip it better to meet the current challenges in the maintenance of international peace and security.
They called for the urgent reform of the United Nations Security Council to make it more democratic.
Briefing state house correspondents after the talks President Jonathan said that Poland is a very important European country and that it is important to deepen trade relations with them.
