The Minister of Information and Orientation,
Mr Labaran Maku has stated that state governors that are criticising the
good governance tour are afraid because the tour will reveal the level
of performance and the projects they have on going.
Mr Maku also denied demanding any fund from the state governors during their visits to the states.
He revealed that a ‘gentlemanly agreement’ was reached with the state governors at the inception of the programme, to fuel the buses when the tour arrives in each state and probably provide a meal.
He also accused the Lagos state governor of taking a partisan stand against the tour because the Lagos state government via its Deputy Governor signed on behalf of the state at the inception to be part of the tour.
“All the governors at the governors’ forum agreed to be part of it” he added.
The governors who have criticised the good governance tour are just being partisan, he added.
