The
Governor of Osun state, Mr Rauf Aregbesola has appealed to the federal
government to activate the emergency code 112 for the use of the state
to allow for timely response to security, medical and disaster calls.
He made the appeal while commissioning additional 100 patrol vans purchased by the state government for the use of security agencies in the southwestern state.
The governor disclosed that more armoured carriers and motorcycles will also be purchased for adequate policing of the state against crime.
Security operatives at the event said the gesture will go a long way in reducing crime to the barest minimum.
This is the second time in the administration of Governor Aregbesola that patrol vans are distributed to security agencies for effective maintenance peace and order in the state.
