Students stunned as their ranting math professor strips off in class before being detained by officers

An eccentric mathematics professor horrified his students when he launched into a nearly unintelligible rant and then stripped off his clothes in front of a crowded calculus lecture at Michigan State University.
The instructor then began running through the halls of the Engineering Building on campus before police arrived and handcuffed him on Monday afternoon.
He was taken away from psychological evaluation. There is no indication of what caused the apparent breakdown. 
Students almost immediately took to social media to report what they had seen.
'He was ranting about computers, Steve Jobs(pronounced Jobes), and how everything is just an act. He ran into the hallway and pressed his face up against the windows to the room and said something about him not yelling,' one student who claimed he was in the class posted on Reddit. 'Then he ran back in and started crying and pulled a dollar out of his wallet for some reason.'
Police did not identify the professor, who was teaching an introductory calculus class, but they did confirm he was taken to a local hospital for examination.
One student posted a photo on a Reddit message board that he claims shows the naked professor handcuffed in the hallway before officers took him away.
He described the chaotic scene in the classroom: 'Eventually (the professor) walked out and down the hallway to the end, all while screaming. He then came back into the classroom and took off his clothes, except for his socks.

 

'... At this point everyone in class ran out. We were literally scared for his life. The police took about 15 minutes to get here, and during this time he continued walking around screaming.'
Another student wrote about the incident on Facebook and added: 'I'm still shaking.'
The website Hyper Vocal contacted on student who said: There was always something off about him... today he came in really depressed Then he just snapped. Went off about there being no f****** god.'
The university said it has provided counseling services to the students who witnesses the professor's tirade.
