Gunmen numbering about six on Monday night
kidnapped the mother of a member of the House of Representatives
representing Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside Federal
Constituency, Abiodun Abudu Balogun, from her home.
Mr Balogun is the deputy chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Internal Security.
The suspected gunmen invaded the Ita-Otu, Ijebu Waterside Local Government Area residence of the woman, Obedatu Abudu Balogun, at about 9:30pm on Monday and forcibly took her away to an unknown destination.
This is the latest incident as criminals terrorise the people of the state.
Between Sunday and Monday, robbers killed about 10 persons in different attacks in Ibafo and Abeokuta.
The situation forced banks operating on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to shut shop by 2p.m on Tuesday.
