Unknown gunmen suspected to be members of the
Boko Haram have killed two policemen at the Kpakunkun Police station in
Minna, the Niger state capital, late saturday night.
Eye witness told Channels Television that the gunmen who were in a black golf car, approached the crowded police station and opened fire indiscriminately at the policemen on duty.
Two police men were killed in the attack while others took to their heels.
When contacted the Niger state Police public relation officer, DSP Pius Edobo, confirmed the death of the two policemen in the attack but refused to give further details.
This is the first attack in Minna since the restriction on the movement of motorcycles (okada) from 7AM to 7PM.
