The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has
seized three containers, loaded with over 3,000 cartons of various
pirated bibles, educational and inspirational books worth N1billion.
At a press briefing held in Lagos, the zonal manager of the commission, Mr. Chris Nkwocha explained that the containers were falsely declared as containing Christian books but on examination, pirated educational books were found inside.
Mr Nkwocha said the books pirated belong to various publishers such as Longman, Macmillan, University Press, African First, Heinemann and others, adding that three suspects have been arrested and investigation is on-going.
