Work
is expected to commence over the next few weeks on the construction of
the second Niger Bridge which will link the eastern part of Nigeria to
other parts of the country.
Minister of works, Mike Onolememen told journalists after a closed door meeting that German construction company, Julius Berger won the bid to execute the contract after 13 months rigorous procurement process.
He said the second phase of the project which includes detailed project survey and environmental impact assessment that will lead to preliminary site work will commence in the coming weeks.
