Officers
of the Anambra state Police Command, Awka, have arrested an armed
robbery suspect who had in his possession over N6 million, a pistol and
six rounds of live ammunition.
Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Bala Nasarawa, while parading the suspect said the he confessed to have gotten the money through a robbery operation along Building Materials Market, Ogidi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.
Mr. Nasarawa maintained that the effectiveness of the police in recent times in the state is a clear indication that they are adhering strictly to the ideals of the code of conduct launched in the state recently in line with the transformation agenda of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar
However the suspect was not allowed to speak as the matter was said to be still under investigation.
