Minister of Police Affiars, Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade (Rtd) has reacted to the recommendation by the Parry Osayande Report on Re-organisation of the Nigerian Police which recommended the scrapping of the Ministry of Police Affairs, if proper funding of the police must take place.
Speaking to State House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting, Captain Olubolade said that as an outcome of that report, President Jonathan has constituted a committee to once more look at the Osayande’s report and produce a white paper which will address insecurity challenges in the country.
He however insisted that it was wrong for the Parry Osayande led committee to call for the scrapping of the Police Affairs Ministry and called on those who want the ministry to be scrapped to wait for the outcome of the white paper.
