The desire to have a united Nigeria with shared values is a major priority of the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
The Director General of the agency, Mike Omeri, disclosed this while on a courtesy visit with members of his team to Channels Television headquarters on Monday in Lagos.
Spelling out the agenda of the agency, Mr Omeri said the NOA is focused at transforming the minds of Nigerians both home and abroad for the benefit of the nation.
“We have everything in this country. We have the values, we have the people but we misapply them,” he said.
He said the problem facing development in Nigeria is perhaps the lack of direction. Therefore, what the agency has set out to do is asking Nigerians to think alike and take a step.
“As an agency that is charged with that mandate, what we do is to expand our engagement with a cross section of the society and opinion gatekeepers who can help deliver this kind of thinking or feeling wherever they may live,” he said.
The NOA boss said this is one way the agency believes it can drive the transformation process.
