The Police in Bauchi on Monday said it had launched investigation into Sunday night’s explosion in the state capital.
A six-year-old boy was killed and 10 other people injured when a bomb hidden inside a wheelbarrow exploded near a beer garden.
Eye witnesses said the explosion hit a bar where people gathered to drink.
The Bauchi State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Ladan said the blast killed the boy, who was near the bar.
But some eye witnesses said four people were feared dead.
Adamu Abubakar, a Red Cross official, said security forces had surrounded the area.
Bauchi has been previously struck by sectarian violence sweeping across the north with Islamist sect Boko Haram claiming responsibility for most of the attacks.
However, the sect did not immediately claim responsibility for yesterday’s attack.
