Delta state donates 40 patrol vehicles to security agencies

Delta state governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has donated 40 patrol vehicles to security operatives to enable them effectively tackle security challenges in the state.
 
Commissioning the vehicles at Government House, Asaba, Governor Uduaghan said his administration was poised at curbing the incessant security challenges in the state.
He explained that the vehicles were provided to meet the requests made by the Army, Immigration, State Security Service and Federal Road Safety Commission to enable them function effectively in the state.
The Governor noted that his administration was seriously tackling security issues to fight a war against crime from the grass root to ensure peace and security in the state.
Responding, on behalf of his colleagues, the Comptroller of the Delta State Command of Immigration, Hammed Ishau Yahaya thanked the state governor for the kind gesture and promised that they would utilise the vehicles properly.
The state Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Ben Igbakpa explained that the Delta state government is determined to provide needed operational vehicles to security agencies in the state, adding that more vehicles would soon be received to boost security situation in the state.
The state government had last month donated 60 patrol vehicles and communication gadgets to the state Police Command in Asaba.
This brings the number of donated vehicles to security agencies to 150 as the state government has donated 110 pickup vans from 2007 to June 2012.
He urged the command not to molest or use the vehicles to inflict pains on the people of the state.
