Abiodun Sopitan, a financial consultant and
former deputy director at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Monday
said the Sanusi Lamido lied to Nigerians on the issue of the new N5000
note as Nigerians were made to believe that consultations were on over
the creation but the CBN took a U-turn by announcing a sensitization
tour.
The former CBN deputy director said although the law permits the CBN governor to make new notes in different denominations, that the National assembly can only give advice.
