No
fewer than 30 persons were feared dead in an auto crash that occurred
at Mobalufun junction, in Odogbolu Local Government of Ogun State on
Tuesday.
The accident occurred after a truck, loaded with wheat flour, rammed into a commuter bus conveying passengers.
Many of the victims are reported to be traders and commuters waiting for buses on roadside.
The remains of the victims as well as the injured have been taken to the general hospital, Ijebu-ode, and the Olabisi Onabanjo University teaching hospital, Sagamu.
The truck loaded with flour rammed into a commuter bus heading to lagos killing all the passengers on the spot.
Traders and some commuters standing by the road side, seeking free rides to their destinations, were part of the victims.
According to sources, scores of people sustained serious injuries in the incident.
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the police and the Ogun state Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency(TRACE) were at the scene last night making efforts to save lives and at the same time evacuate the dead.
