Police say a blaze at a fireworks factory in southern India has killed at least 10 workers and injured 25 others.
Police officer P. Karupaiah says the cause of Wednesday’s fire at the factory on the outskirts of Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu state was not immediately known.
Sivakasi is about 650 kilometers (400 miles) southwest of Chennai, the state capital.
The region has many factories making fireworks, which are used in religious festivals and weddings across India. They also are exported to other Asian countries. Some illegal fireworks factories operate in homes.
