The Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr.
Jonah Otunla has asked accountants in the country to imbibe the culture
of transparency and accountability in their professions.
Mr. Otunla who spoke at a meeting organized for the adoption of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) in Abuja said that the role of accountants is crucial to the attainment of the federal government’s transformation agenda while adding that the adoption of best practices in public sector accounting is a prerequisite for ensuring transparency.
On his part, the Accountant General of Kogi State, Mr. Paul Audu called on government at all levels to adopt internationally best practices in accounting for the attainment of socio economic development for the nation.
