As part of its efforts to combat terrorism in
the coming year, the Nigerian Police Force is proposing N2.8 billion in
the 2013 budget to fund logistics, intelligence gathering and purchase
of anti-terror equipment.
This was part of the details presented by the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs to the House of Representatives’ committee while defending its 2013 budget proposal of N341.6 billion.
In a presentation to the House of Representatives committee on Police Affairs, the Minister of police affairs, Caleb Olubode said the ministry’s 2013 budget focuses primarily on completion of on-going projects.
The Chairman of the house committee on police affairs, Usman Kumo said no cost was too much to end terror attacks in Nigeria and that the committee will give the police the much needed support to fight terrorism.
