Unknown gunmen kill 2 persons in Mubi

The Sallah celebration did not go without violence in Mubi, Adamawa state, as unknown gunmen killed two persons in Sabon-Layi area of Mubi on Sunday.

Mr Mark Idakwo, the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa, confirmed that two people were killed, while one was hospitalised following the attack.
Eyewitnesses told journalists that six gunmen descended on the area around 8 p.m. on Sunday and ordered everyone to lie down.
“They collected money and handsets from the people before shooting sporadically as they retreated, hitting four people in the process,” they said.
The attack took place in front of the house of the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Mubi North Local Government Area, Alhaji Sahabo Jauro.
Most of the victims of the attack were visitors to the politician house.
The Commissioner of Police urged the public to give any information that could assist the police to track the yet-to-be-identified gunmen who perpetrated the act on Sallah day.
