National leadership of the Democratic Peoples
Party (DPP) as well as the deputy minority whip of the Senate, Senator
Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon have condoled both the Senate and the family
of late Senator Ewherido who died on Sunday after a brief illness.
DPP chieftains led by its national chairman, Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi while paying a condolence visit to the family of late Senator Pious Ewherido at his residence in Asokoro described the Senator as a very active member of the party who has raised the profile of the party before his death.
Senate minority whip and Senator representing Lagos West senatorial district, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon also described as a personal loss, the demise of Senator Pius Ewherido.
Solomon who says he was still in shock over the death said he was with Ewherido at the National Hospital, Abuja, where he had his first operation before the plan to fly him abroad but eventually gave up the ghost.
