Foreign missions urged to hasten visa processing in Nigeria

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru has urged all foreign mission in the country to overhaul the process of issuing visa, saying Nigerians should not be made to wait for a long time to obtain visas to any country.
The Minister made the remark at a ceremony for the presentation of accreditations to new diplomats posted to Nigeria in Abuja on Tuesday.
He said the aim of bilateral relations is defeated when any country with an embassy or consulate in Nigeria does not issue visas to Nigerians with good cause into their countries.
The Minister presented nine Consul Generals and Honorary Consuls with their accreditation papers thereby giving them licence to work freely in Nigeria and promote bilateral relations for the benefit of both countries.
Some of the Consular were from the United Nations, to Liberia, Spain, Finland, Slovakia, and Saudi Arabia and more.
Meanwhile preparations are in top gear for the arrival of the United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton on Thursday the 9th of August, who has been on a 10 day working visit to Africa.
