Historic New Hampshire mansion goes back on the market for $7,900,000

All this could be yours, if you have a spare $8 million floating around that is.
The historic New Hampshire mansion is up for sale once again, 14 years after being bought at auction from the Rollins family who owned it for almost 100 years.
Three Rivers Farm is a landmark in the Dover neighbourhood, built in 1901 by Boston banking heir E.W. Rollins.

It is regarded in legendary terms, as one of the finest mansions on the market.
As the name suggests the estate is bordered by three stretches of water - the Cochecho River, Salmons Falls River, and Fresh Creek.

Originally spanning 500 acres, parts of the farm were updated by the new owners but the home's historic character remains.

A 10,000-square-foot brick Georgian 'summer cottage' now includes a modern kitchen and bathrooms, but original 'Grueby tiles' and 'Stickley features' are true to its heritage.
Reminders of the wilderness in which the property is located exist within its walls, including a stuffed bear reared up on its hind legs in a sitting room and a stag hanging above a back door.

Pillars, chandeliers and wide staircases add to the regal feel of the highly ornate home, with throne-like armchairs and tasteful lighting complementing the mural-lined walls.
In winter, decorative rugs and carpets give the wood-paneled interior a cosiness, furthered by large brick fireplaces in several rooms.
And in summer a pier down to the water offers the perfect location for al fresco dining and entertaining, or simply relaxing in the sun.

A traditional old-fashioned stove remains in the kitchen, complemented by more modern touches such as a large gas oven, capturing the fusion of old and new that exists throughout the property.
Heavy wooden doors on the bedrooms open onto grand four-poster beds.
And adding to its exclusive feel, the property is all but surrounded by greenery and tall trees offering privacy from anyone beyond one of its neighbouring rivers.
