- He flings plastic playing cards as fast as high-speed train
- Aiming to slash record 18 cucumbers in under a minute
But even he would be impressed with Ye Tongxin who can leave deep cuts in fruit and vegetables with ordinary plastic playing cards.
Tongxin, a 48-year-old Chinaman, is attempting to set a Guinness record as the best in the world. It may look simple, but he has been in training for the past 10 years.
Sliced: A watermelon slashed deeply by the playing cards thrown by Ye Tongxin
Card sharp: Chinese Ye Tongxin is attempting a Guinness world record after 10 years' of training
Cucumbers or the fruit towel gourd might look simple to cut because their skins are crisp, but unlike other card-throwing ninjas, Tongxin can slash apples and watermelons just as easily.
He uses a six-and-a-half-feet frame on which he hangs cucumber-shaped bags to practice his throwing and slicing skills.
According to Tongxin, the cards he throws travel 50 meters in a half second, so that means his plastic projectiles fly out of his hand at 360kmh.
In training: Ye Tongzin spends two hours every night throwing cards at fruit and vegetables after he gets home from work
Slashed: The cucumbers severed by the playing cards which hang from a frame used for training by Tongxin
