A small plane careened into an SUV at an airport outside Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, injuring the driver of the car, who was traveling on a privately owned road near the airport.
Video footage captured the moment that the two-seater plane lowered over the runway in preparation for landing, when a black SUV suddenly comes into view. The car is driving perpendicular to the plane's path, and the two meet for a split second.
The wheels of the plane hit the roof of the SUV, causing one wheel to fly off the plane, and the SUV appeared close to tipping over.

The pilot's wife captured the scene on video from where she was watching her husband practice to earn his pilot's license. The pilot, William Davis, said he is going to give up flying after his close call, according to WFAA.

Stop signs are painted on the pavement where the plans cross the privately owned road before landing.
Crash landing: The plane landed on its belly and skidded off the runway until it came to a complete stop in a patch of grass
'When cars cross that area they are supposed to stop and wait for any airplanes,' Deputy Chief Gilbert Caldwell of the Roanoke Fire Department told WFAA. 'Either the plane didn’t see the car or the car didn’t see the plane.'
