Looking at the 2013 budget presentation by
president Goodluck Jonathan as another topic on Sunrise, our anchors
were joined by an economist Doyin Kasunmu, a security expert Ariyo
Oladehinde and a financial expert Olusegun Oye to discuss what President
Jonathan tagged a budget of consolidation.
Ariyo Oladehinde a security expert took on the security section of the budget with his analysis being based on the police and the defence ministry where the latter got N348b and the former getting a meagre N319b.
According to the security expert, after the police budget would have been sliced by Ministry of Police Affairs and the Police Service Commission and corruption come into play too, the Inspector General may just be left with 30% of the whole amount to sprinkle down to the force men itself so what is left for the foot soldiers.
