OPC urges president Jonathan not to resign

THE O’ODUA PEOPLES CONGRESS (OPC) HAS ASKED PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN NOT TO RESIGN DUE TO THREATS FROM TERRORISTS.
OPC FOUNDER DR FREDERICK FASEHUN, AT A NEWS CONFERENCE IN LAGOS, SAID THE PRESIDENT SHOULD DISREGARD THOSE DEMANDING HIS RESIGNATION.
HE SAID ONLY A FOOL WOULD PLAY THE ETHNO-RELIGIOUS CARD IN CONTEMPORARY NIGERIAN POLITICS, ADDING THAT HE REGRETS THE NONCHALANT ATTITUDE OF SOME NIGERIANS TO THE SECURITY PROBLEMS IN THE NORTHERN PART OF THE COUNTRY.
ACCORDING TO DR. FASEHUN, THE LACK OF RESPECT FOR THE COUNTRY AND ITS’ INSTITUTIONS HAS PERMEATED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM.
THE OPC FOUNDER URGED NIGERIANS TO IMMEDIATELY REVIEW THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE NATION’S SITUATION, TO HELP PULL IT BACK FROM THE BRINK.
HE SAID THE ONLY SOLUTION IS THE RESTRUCTURING, REFORMING, REDESIGNING AND TRANSFORMING THE NATION THROUGH A SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONFERENCE.
