Bridgette ‘Bri’ and Brad Jordan, of Centralia, Illinois, may share a last name with the basketball legend, but that is where the similarities between them and Michael Jordan end.
In contrast to their larger-than-life namesake standing at six feet six inches tall, the Jordans are the Guinness World Records-certified smallest siblings in the world.
The duo suffer from Majewski osteodysplastic primordial dwarfism type II – a rare illness that affects less than 200,000 people in the U.S. population associated with brain and skeletal abnormalities.
Dynamic duo: Bridgette Jordan, left, and her
brother, Brad, right, are Guinness World Records-certified smallest
siblings in the world
Tall order: Bri Jordan stands at only 27 inches and needs a stool to get into bed
Rare condition: The dynamic duo suffer from
Majewski osteodysplastic primordial dwarfism type II which affects less
than 200,000 people in the U.S. population
Daily routine: The siblings go on shopping trips
to the grocery store every week, but placing the items in the cart is
not easy for them
‘Bradley especially doesn't seem to have a problem with being shy,’ the siblings’ mother, Christy Jordan, told the Huffington Post. ‘They've always been in the public eye.’
Last year for a few months, Bri Jordan was also the record holder for ‘World's Smallest Woman,’ but the title has since been awarded to Jyoti Amge of Nagpur, India, who is just 24 inches tall.
Like Mike: At 38 inches, Brad Jordan loves sports, including basketball and golf
Big jock: Despite his small stature, Brad Jordan
enjoys karate, basketball, gymnastics, and is also on a cheer-leading
squad in college
The program will focus on the siblings’ day-to-day lives as they tackle common tasks that people of normal stature take for granted.
Ms Jordan, who weighs only 18lbs, is so small that she has to shower in the sink, and while she will go grocery shopping every week, getting the items into the cart is a tall order for her.
Hobbies: Bri loves baking cupcakes in her free time
High honors: Last year for a few months, Bri Jordan was also the record holder for 'World's Smallest Woman'
Larger than life: Bri, right, hopes to become a fashion designer, while her brother, left, dreams of becoming an actor
Besides the two diminutive siblings, the show will feature their older sister Brandi, who is of normal height, and their mother, a registered nurse.
While the Jordan siblings have their disability in common, they have separate career aspirations. The 23-year-old Bri hopes to become a fashion designer, while her brother dreams of the stage.
Despite the challenges associated with their
illness, the Jordans are proud of their record and keep the Guinness
certificate on a bookshelf
Happy family: The Jordan siblings live with their average-height mother, Christy, center, who is a registered nurse
